Keep the work behind every form

The Server saves changes as people fill in a form. Each saved record can be opened again, so a quotation, request or application can continue beyond the first visit.

Find the record you need. Filter and sort the records list, choose which columns to show and reopen a record to review it.
Include supporting files. Add attachment fields when people need to send documents or images with their form.
Connect your forms. Choose which fields other published workbooks may look up, so a form can use information already stored elsewhere.

Get a PDF that looks like your form

Every edition supports PDF submissions. When a web form is submitted, it can produce a PDF copy that looks like the completed web page, preserving the form’s layout and entered values.

Use the PDF as a readable copy to keep or share. PDF submissions are included in both Standard and Professional.

Allow people with the form link to use it, or require member sign-in. For your team, configure record access through ownership, workgroups and roles. You can also share an individual record with view or edit access.

End users can see only their own records. Publishing a form does not give end users access to everyone else’s responses.

Who uses your forms?

Builders: Convert .xlsx workbooks into web pages. When signed in to SpreadsheetConverter Server, builders can see all submitted data in their account.
Team members: Employees and colleagues who sign in to SpreadsheetConverter Server and belong to workgroups. Their workgroup determines which data they can access. These additional team members are counted separately from builders.
End users with email: Fill in forms and can see only their own data. By entering their email address in a field called “email”, they can find their own forms again using that email address.
Anonymous end users: Fill in forms and can see only their own data, without entering an email address. Access depends on their browser cookies. After closing the browser and deleting those cookies, they can no longer access their previously filled-in forms.

End users are the people who fill in your forms, rather than your team members. Neither type of end user uses an additional team member place.

Follow the records that matter

Signed-in members can choose notifications for their own records, new records or all activity, or turn them off. They can also mute an individual record.

From workbook to working form

Prepare your workbook. Add the input fields, formulas and controls your form needs.
Publish to SpreadsheetConverter Server. Use the v12 add-in’s publishing option and review any reported warnings.
Set access and sharing. Decide who can open the form and who can view or edit its records.
Try it, then share it. Check the form, saved records and access settings before sharing the address or embedding it in your website.

Your subscription includes SpreadsheetConverter Server hosting, submissions and records. Each plan has a builder allowance and a separate allowance for additional team members. Every plan includes unlimited end users, with email or anonymous.

Trouble-free forms handling

Electronic forms are sent to your e-mail Inbox, or saved in a cloud database.

With SpreadsheetConverter, anyone can create a calculating order form that can be automatically sent to your order desk just like with a web shop. If you get a lot of electronic forms for post-processing, things will be much simpler if you use the Advanced Submit Service to save the forms in a cloud database as they arrive.

When the user presses the Submit button in one of your web forms, the form’s contents are sent as an e-mail to your Inbox. Our forms-processing services require no installation, no programming skills and no configuration of your website. Once you upload your first web form to your website, submitted forms start arriving in your Inbox. You’re up and running within minutes.

Using Excel to create forms

The tabular Excel worksheet makes it very easy to design easy-to-use forms. The web page inherits the formatting in Excel and supports the use of graphical themes.

You can use any feature of Excel, including formulas and functions, to validate data entry, select intelligent default values or show customized images or Google maps.

Create mobile-friendly, responsive forms that automatically adapt to different screen widths, portrait/landscape orientation etc.
To make it easier to understand a large form, split into two or more sections and let users navigate between the sections using tabs, next/previous buttons or sliding panels.
Use graphical widgets like menus and calendars to make the form easier to use.
Hide rows or complete sections of a form until you know they are applicable. Only visible rows and sheets are visible in the e-mail you receive when the form is submitted. (Hidden sheets may be visible in e-mail clients that don’t support current HTML standards.)
Allow file attachments with submitted web forms.
Form fields can be made mandatory. Use hidden fields to discretely include supplemental information in the form.
Fetch live data from corporate databases when run on ASP.Net or Node.js servers.
Build forms-based web apps that can submit smart forms directly from iPhone or Android devices – even when the phone is offline.
Use live, interactive charts that invite users to point-and-click, and the charts automatically update when values are changed.

Our forms processing services are completely self-contained, and the only thing you need to provide is an e-mail address. There is nothing to install in your server or website. You don’t need any programming skills and there is no change to configuration or settings.

The Free Submit Service

You may use our Free Submit Service for all web forms you create with SpreadsheetConverter. The free service simply sends you an e-mail for every completed form, with the form fields and their values in a table.

Using the service is very simple and it takes less than a minute to get started. When you convert a spreadsheet into a smart web form, just enter the e-mail address you wish to use for submitted forms.

When your form is uploaded to the web server, users can enter data into it and submit the completed form for processing. Our server determines the correct e-mail address and forwards the submitted form to your Inbox.

There is no extra charge for this service, it is included with your SpreadsheetConverter license.

The Advanced Submit Service

If you upgrade to the fee-based Advanced Submit Service, each e-mail contains a “screenshot” of the whole form, including graphics and charts, maintaining the original form layout from the web server. This makes it much easier to interpret the contents of the form during post-processing.

The Advanced Submit Service also stores received forms in a cloud database for later retrieval. You can sort and filter the saved forms in various ways. Customized reports, for example all forms that were submitted last week, can be downloaded. The Advanced Service subscription includes cloud storage for 100,000 saved forms.

The Advanced Submit Service supports many additional features:

The e-mail contains the form’s contents also in PDF and CSV format.
If forms include interactive charts, or Google Map or Link Image widgets, these are present also in the PDF file.
Users can send documents, images and data files with their form submissions. The Advanced Service subscription includes cloud storage for more than 8,000 uploaded files.
Hidden rows and hidden sheets are also hidden in the attached files.
Form contents can be protected behind a login for secure delivery.

Using your own forms processing service

The web page generated by SpreadsheetConverter is a standard web form. You can easily send SpreadsheetConverter web forms through any standard form-processing service if you prefer to use an existing solution.
