SpreadsheetConverter for Linux
Use SpreadsheetConverter with Excel Online in your browser on Linux.
Work in Excel for the web
Open your .xlsx workbook in Excel for the web and use the SpreadsheetConverter add-in to convert it into an interactive web page. This is a browser workflow, with no desktop Excel installation on Linux.
First-time setup
The current installation flow requires an initial installation and Microsoft permission consent in desktop Excel on Windows. After that, use the same Microsoft account in Excel for the web on Linux. Follow the installation instructions, or contact Support if you need help getting your account ready.
Convert and check your workbook
Open the Convert to Web task pane, convert the workbook and check Messages and Preview. Test calculations and controls before publishing. See the first-conversion instructions.
Host HTML output on Linux
You can also host the generated HTML, JavaScript and assets on a Linux web server. Upload the complete bundle and test the published page. Excel is not required on the server. Follow the publishing instructions and read the Linux FAQ.
