Use Excel for the web

SpreadsheetConverter works in Excel Online (Excel for the web) on a Mac. Open your workbook in Excel for the web and use the SpreadsheetConverter add-in. Support for desktop Excel on Mac is in development and is not yet available.

First-time setup

The current installation flow requires you to install the add-in and accept Microsoft’s permission dialog in desktop Excel on Windows first. After that, use the same Microsoft account in Excel for the web on your Mac. See the installation instructions for the desktop setup and subsequent web use.

Convert your workbook

Open your .xlsx workbook in Excel for the web and open the Convert to Web task pane. Convert the workbook, check Messages and Preview, and test the results before publishing. Follow the first-conversion instructions and publishing checklist.
