Convert and check charts ¶
If you have a chart in your spreadsheet, SpreadsheetConverter will automatically try to create a similar chart in the converted web page.
Prepare and preview the chart ¶
Keep the chart in the Excel workbook and convert it with the rest of the spreadsheet. Open the preview and compare its labels, series and values with Excel. Change the input cells that feed the chart and check that the chart follows the calculation.
Check the Messages tab before publishing. A chart that cannot be rendered can appear as an unsupported-chart message instead of a working chart.
Chart types and edition requirements ¶
In the modern HTML renderer, Standard supports non-3D pie, column and bar charts. Other supported chart types and 3D charts require Professional. Surface charts are not supported in the HTML chart output; an unrecognized chart type also produces an unsupported-chart message.
The modern renderer has handling for line, area, scatter, radar, bubble, stock and doughnut charts as well as bar, column and pie. This does not mean every Excel chart option is reproduced. Compare your particular workbook in the preview, including combination charts, axes and labels.
When the result differs ¶
Read the conversion messages and check the edition requirement first. If a workbook has a problem with Modern HTML output, the Classic rendering engine setting can provide a temporary comparison. See rendering-engine troubleshooting.
Use known input values when comparing the Excel chart with the converted chart. See testing your calculations.
