Creating calculating web pages just got a lot easier. A new cloud service lets you publish your spreadsheets on the web with just a click of the mouse.
Sept 17, 2017 — SpreadsheetConverter is an add-on to Microsoft Excel that converts spreadsheets to live, calculating web pages. The new version 9.3 recently became available at SpreadsheetConverter.com.
Adding pages to a web site used to be quite difficult for ordinary users. Now you can upload anything you convert with SpreadsheetConverter to the web with just a few mouse clicks.
“Once you’ve converted a spreadsheet to web format you want to make it available on the web. With Publish to Cloud, your calculator is online within seconds, directly from inside Excel”, says Anna Winter, sales manager for SpreadsheetConverter.
For every spreadsheet you create, there are two upload locations: Test and Production. You can make changes to a spreadsheet and invite other people to test it in the Test location. When testing is complete and you want to activate the new version as the live Production version, simply select to replace the Production version instead.
“Production links are always the same, every time you upload the same spreadsheet, and never expire”, says Winter.
Calculators are hosted on the distributed Amazon S3 high-performace infrastructure. Over a dozen server locations around the globe ensure that the calculators are always within easy reach of a global audience.
“The fact that we use the Amazon S3 gives our customers extreme reliability and massive scalability”, says Winter.
The calculators are typically embedded into the customer’s website using iframes. The Publish to Cloud service automatically generates the required HTML. It also offers a full link, a shortened TinyURL link and a QR code link to the hosted calculator.
There is currently no limit to the number of calculators and forms you may upload, or their combined size. As the use of this feature grows, usage fees and/or limits may be introduced.
SpreadsheetConverter is available for free trial at http://www.spreadsheetconverter.com/buy/free-trial/. It creates web pages that are completely standalone, do not use Excel and run on all web servers. You only need Excel and the Spreadsheet Converter add-on for the actual conversion from spreadsheet to web page format. There is a one-time fee for the conversion program, with no extra fees per page, user or server. You may use the program and the web pages it creates for as long as you like. Full versions start at $127.
