calculated from a person’s weight and height.

BMI is used as an screening tool to identify
possible weight problems for adults/childs.
However, BMI is not a diagnostic tool.

BMI correlates to direct measures of body fat,
such as underwater weighing and dual energy
x-ray absorptiometry (DXA).

BMI can be considered as an alternative for
direct measures of body fat.

Additionally, BMI is an inexpensive and
easy-to-perform method of screening for
weight categories that may lead to health
problems.

1. System of measurement
To calculate the BMI select U.S Customary Units
or Metric system of measurement.
2. Height
For U.S. Customary Units, Enter Height
in Feet and Inches.
For Metric Calculation, Enter Height
in Meter and Centimeter.
Only use whole numbers, otherwise
the calculation will yield an incorrect
BMI.
3. Weight
For English Calculation, Enter Weight in Pounds
For Metric Calculation, Enter Weight in Kilogram


Case


A man wants to know his Body Mass Index(BMI).
He knows his height and weight and he wants to
find out what is his BMI status and how high
his BMI is.
Through this calculator he can easily find out
whether his BMI is under weight, over weight,
or normal weight, etc.

To calculate his BMI suppose for example his
height is 5 feet 6 inches and his weight is 133
pounds.
