These are the new features of version 3:
Pictures
Insert a picture in the spreadsheet and it will turn up on the web page.
Submit
Built-in submit functionality out of the box. All collected data is sent to you by email. (Note: A temporary solution is used in beta 1, so the data is sent as an unformatted email. Data as spreadsheet files and HTML-tables is slightly delayed.)
Multi-sheet web page
If you want to show more than one sheet, SpreadsheetConverter generates tabs for easy switching between them.
New buttons: Reset and Print
Reset resets the fields to their initial values, and Print prints the form.
Multi-line input boxes and list boxes supported
Single-line, multi-line input boxes, list boxes, checkboxes and dropdown lists are supported. Option button not yet supported (probably version 3.1).

At the top, you see the toolbar with the update, reset, submit and print buttons. RESET will restore the field values to their original state, SUBMIT will send the contents of the spreadsheet to an email address (currently to us at SpreadsheetConverter), PRINT will print the current tab without the toolbar and the tabs.
Below the toolbar you have the tabs. Click on Comments to select that tab. The operations is immediate, since all tabs are downloaded into your browser.
Next, you see a simple image of a car that has was inserted into the spreadsheet. SpreadsheetConverter makes it part of the web page.
If you select the Comments tab, you see an example of a multiline input field.

Live 2d-charts
Live pie, bar, column, and scatter charts are created on the web page. As soon as values changes, the charts are updated. (2d-charts require a Flash enabled browser, currently about 97% of all browsers are Flash enabled.)

The web page contains a pie chart and a column chart. Change the number of year or the interest rate and the charts will be update immediately.

Speed
Typically 500% increase in conversion speed and much less memory is used.
Cyrillic, Chinese and other non-US characters supported
Full Unicode support. The web pages are UTF-8
Character cell formatting
Supports formatting of text inside a cell, for example a single word can be made italic.
Automatic merging improved
Automatic merging of cells redesigned and much better
Result is automatically zipped for easier distribution
Version 2 only generated a single file, version 3 generates a set of files (main html, picture files, etc). All the necessary files are zipped into a single archive that easily can be managed.
CSS, cascading style sheets formatting
The formatting is based on CSS.
Excel 2003 and Windows Server 2003 supported
NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 with Excel 2000, XP, 2003 are supported. Excel 97 and Windows 98/ME is not supported by version 3, please continue to use version 2.

Version 2 and version 3 can coexist
You can have both version 2 and version 3 installed on the same machine.
Known issues:
SpreadsheetConverter version 3 and Frontpage extensions are not compatible. When you open up the generated web page in Frontpage and set the form properties, Frontpage optimizes the web page and makes it partly unreadable. We are looking into this.
SpreadsheetConverter to ASP & ASP.NET and SpreadsheetConverter to Java/JSP version 3 will be released within 1-2 months.
