Convert Excel Spreadsheets to Live and Calculating Web Pages with SpreadsheetConverter Version 6

Nov 20, 2011 -- SpreadsheetConverter is an add-on to Microsoft Excel that lets you convert spreadsheets to live web pages. The new version 6 recently became available at www.SpreadsheetConverter.com.
A totally revamped user interface enables power users to move ahead up to four times faster, while new users get much more help and overview. Much of the work is based on graphical widgets like menus, calendars and sliders, which simplify data entry and avoid errors.
"In this release, we have focused on speed and ease of use. A new Settings panel shows you the properties of the currently selected widget. If the cell is empty, we show you a list of widgets you can insert", says Anna Winter, sales manager for SpreadsheetConverter.
Once you've inserted a widget into a cell, the Settings panel makes it much faster and easier to change its settings using the Cell tab. The Settings panel allows you to move around the worksheet quickly and adjust all the widgets to new requirements.
If a workbook has more than one sheet, SpreadsheetConverter can create a tab for each sheet, or creates a panel or accordion-style layout to hide inactive worksheets. A data entry wizard allows the visitor to advance step-by-step through a form, with each worksheet as a separate step in the wizard.
"Often, a workbook contains one or more "behind-the-scenes" worksheets that include supporting data. These background worksheets must be hidden, so we've made it much easier to control what worksheets appear in the converted web page", says Winter.
If your Excel spreadsheet contains charts, SpreadsheetConverter converts them into web-ready Flash animations that automatically update as you modify the underlying data in the spreadsheet.
Delivering forms across the web is another handy feature added by SpreadsheetConverter. When a form has been filled in, it can be sent directly to a preset e-mail address. It can also be stored securely in a database for later retrieval, separately or in a batch. Basic form delivery is a free, hosted service that requires no programming or other IT resources.
The new Workbook and Worksheets tabs allow you to change any workbook setting at any time, without starting a conversion. Version 6 supports 64-bit Excel. Two or more flavors of the product can be installed side-by-side.
SpreadsheetConverter is available for free trial at www.spreadsheetconverter.com/download/free-trial.htm. It creates web pages that are completely standalone, do not use Excel and run on all web servers. You only need Excel and the Spreadsheet Converter add-on for the actual conversion from spreadsheet to web page format.
