Users of electronic forms can include documents, charts, images, videos or any other kinds of files with their form submissions.
May 31, 2016 — SpreadsheetConverter is an add-on to Microsoft Excel that lets you convert spreadsheets to live web pages. The new version 8.4 recently became available at SpreadsheetConverter.com.
Users often want to include images or documents with their electronic forms. The File Attachment widget makes it easy to just drag-and-drop files onto the form, or to browse the file system.
“It’s so obvious when you think about it. There is often a document or two that you want to clip on to your application or contribution. We even use the File Attachment widget in the support form on our own website”, says Anna Winter, sales manager for SpreadsheetConverter.
File attachments work the same in all environments. Also in smartphones, a file picker window appears and lets the user scroll through images and files and select the ones to include with the form.
“One nifty feature is the ability to take a picture right away. You can just point your camera to whatever you are reporting, like a scratch on your car or an error code on a washing machine, take a picture of it and include it with your form”, says Winter.
E-mail is an insecure transport and the contents of the forms you receive can be intercepted by a third party along the way. A new feature called Secure Delivery just sends a link to access the form and its attachments securely behind a login.
SpreadsheetConverter is available for free trial at /buy/free-trial/. It creates web pages that are completely standalone, do not use Excel and run on all web servers. You only need Excel and the Spreadsheet Converter add-on for the actual conversion from spreadsheet to web page format. There is a one-time fee for the conversion program, with no extra fees per page, user or server. You may use the program and the web pages it creates for as long as you like. Full versions start at $127.
